Home plans for families who want a deeply personal and functional new build designed and a process that saves you time, money, and your sanity. You'll hand over fully buildable plans to your builder, with complete confidence in your choices, design, and knowing exactly what your home will look like in 3D before your new build even begins.

Material Selections
Our material selection service is a flexible, consulting style service. You purchase a bank of hours and set the priorities, whether that's nailing down the last details or building your entire palette from scratch. Wherever you’re at in the process, you’ll get thoughtful, professional support to make confident choices and create a cohesive, beautiful result that feels like you.

Builders & Interior Design Services
CANB Design isn't just for homeowners. I partner with builders and interior designers to provide custom home plans, 3D realistic renders, or material selections, whichever piece fills the gap for you or your client. The result is a more streamlined process from design to finish, with fewer surprises along the way.

Step 1: Getting to Know You
Before we get started, you’ll fill out the design questionnaire to the best of your abilities. We’ll meet to go over details, clarify anything, and talk in detail. About your day to day, what you love and hate about your current home, and what you actually want out of your home. I’m getting to know your family, not just matching what’s on your Pinterest board.

Step 2: Initial Custom Plan
Using everything from our meeting, I will design and share the home layout that best fits your goals, budget, and needs we discussed. And if it feels good, we’ll move on. If for some reason it doesn’t, we’ll discuss what missed the mark. That’s why we start with just the floorplan.

Step 3:Preliminary plans & walkthrough
We’ll move the custom plan into preliminary by adding more details and getting into the nitty gritty. This stage is for making adjustments and seeing it all come together. Once we’re not moving walls around, we’ll sit down for a 3D walkthrough meeting, so you can see it start coming together and we can make adjustments in real time if needed.

Step 4: Material selections (optional)
This optional stage is where we’ll take your home and select all your hard finishes. We’re talking paint, tile, cabinets, trim, doors, all of it. So your home feels cohesive and you know exactly what you’re getting before starting.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to design a new build home? When should I reach out?
This really depends! Typically it can take 2-4 months, but can take longer. Reaching out as soon as you can allows us time to not rush through the design. We can start even before you have a builder. And, if it’s too soon, I’ll let you know!
Can you draw my plan based on my sketch?
Absolutely! I can start from a sketch, just descriptions, or a list of what you love from a bunch of inspiration. I take all of this and your answers on your design questionnaire to create the initial concept. That being said, I cannot directly copy plans from online. They are copyrighted and need to be purchased.
Do you provide MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings?
CANB Design does not offer MEP drawings. While I locate mechanical items (like the furnace), place lights and switches, and plumbing fixtures- I leave the specifics to the professionals in the field for how to make that come together. They will always know best practices for their field.
Do your plans include enough information to get a permit? Will they meet building code requirements in my area?
Final plans will be ready for permit and are typically designed to Omaha & Lincoln Nebraska code requirements. If you’re in a location that requires different code, let’s talk!
Does CANB Design Include Interior & Exterior Renderings?
Yes! Every design project CANB Design does has interior and exterior renderings provided. I wholeheartedly believe seeing your home and having renders to convey the intent to all parties involved makes for better builds.
Your new home is worth getting right.
And you don’t have to figure that out all on your own.
